    Bedford Race Equality Council (BREC) is a voluntary organisation funded by the Commission of Racial Equality, Bedford Borough Council and Bedfordshire County Council.

    It aims to work towards the elimination of racial discrimination and to promote equality of opportunity and good relations between persons of different racial groups.

    BREC specialises in providing free confidential advice and assistance to individuals concerning racial harassment and discrimination, immigration, nationality, passport and visa applications, housing, health employment, social services and education.

    Bedford Race Equality Council provides a comprehensive service to help people who have been discriminated against in service and employment.

    BREC provides an extensive service to employers which includes drafting and reviewing and redrafting existing Equal Opportunities Policies. Advice is also available on recruitment and retention of under-represented ethnic minority employees.
