Barnfield College is the largest and most diverse further education college in the region. The mission of the college is to provide accessible, responsive and high quality education and training, employment opportunities and services for all our students, staff and customers.

The Rotherham Avenue site provides opportunities for adults with learning difficulties. If you are unable to get to the college the Service will reach out to you.

The college offers both full and part-time courses; it has staff who are qualified to teach students:

• with severe to mild learning disabilities
• who are deaf or hearing impaired
• with specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia
• with basic skills needs
• who are blind or visually impaired
• who have a physical disability
• who are mentally ill/ recovering.

The college may also provide you with

• a teaching assistant
• communication support worker/interpreter
• notetaker
• reader
• pre-recorded tapes
• enlarged or Braille materials
• personal care support
• trained first aiders
