Care Support Network for people with learning disabilities (mental handicap)

The aim of BEDSNET is to promote the relief and welfare of former patients
of Bromham Hospital, and the people living in Bedfordshire, who are in
need because of a mental and/or physical disability.
The activities of BEDSNET include:
- Monitoring the standard of care being provided for adults who have
learning disabilities and are living in community homes.
- Regular liaison meetings with Bedfordshire and Luton Community
NHS Trust, the providers of much of care in community homes.
- To bring to the attention of the providers any deficiencies in
the service handful of a positive input to improve the overall service.
BEDSNET is anxious to encourage younger parents and relatives of
those with learning disabilities to become part of the group. BEDSNET
is particularly keen to welcome the parents of young people about to leave
the education system and become part of the adult world.
Access to the Group, which meets every five to six
weeks, is free.
The executive Liaison Group meets quarterly.
