DALLMEYER, John Henry

b. 6 Sept 1830; d. 30 Sept 1883

Dallmeyer was an optician of considerable emimence, and after the exhibition of 1862 he came to fame as the manufacurer of photographic lenses, selling, it is claimed, more than thirty thousand up to the time of his death. He received many honours, and for some time served on the Council of the Photographic Society.
