Robert
and Aimee Leggat.
Dad was born in 1899. After studying at the Bible Training Institute
(BTI) in Glasgow, and at the Missionary School of Medicine, my father
set off, in 1927, to the north of Argentina. My mother, formerly a civil
servant in London, married him in 1937. They retired in 1971.
Aimee died in 1972, Robert in 1977.

Dad's father, Peter Leggat, had the distinction of living to be just
over 100 years. By this time he had forgotten who his children were
- and often asked me who I was! - but ask him about Disraeli and Gladstone,
and he seemed to have a photographic memory for this period! He lived
originally in Orchard Street, Renfrew, and in his last few years stayed
at the home of one of his daughters, in Largs, Ayrshire.
